Biography
Ottih, Rosecolette Ihuoma is a peacebuilding specialist and a development practitioner who has supported the monitoring and implementation of key programs in conflict prevention, stabilization, security, and justice. She is passionate about addressing gender bias and gender inequality and has played key roles in advocating for gender inclusion in peacebuilding processes using her background as a community dialogue facilitator.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Library and Information science from Abia state University Uturu before deviating into the development studies which earned her a master’s degree in Gender, Peace and Conflict studies from the Center for Conflict and Gender Studies (CCGS), University of Port Harcourt. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field.
Presently, Rosecolette is the Advocacy Coordinator in Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta (PIND), a United States Institute of Peace (USIP/NNF) fellow, a fellow of the Cardinal Onayeikan Foundation for Peace (COFP) and an ambassador of Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP). Before she joined PIND foundation, she was the Administrative/Programs officer for Partners for Peace in the Niger Delta where she managed a network composed of a multi-ethnic and diverse group of people in the largest peacebuilding network in the Niger Delta.
She is driven, diplomatic and she is known for her ability to handle tasks with very little supervision. Her contributions to peacebuilding in the Niger Delta have earned her several awards, notable among them is the award of the “Incredible African Woman” featured Phenomenal African Woman (PAW) magazine on the 2022 international women’s day.
