We are excited to announce that our 2019 annual report is out! 2019 is a landmark year for us because it marks the end of our second five-year strategic funding phase (2015-2019) and nine years of solid programming within the Niger Delta region.
There were a number of changes in the Niger Delta peace and conflict landscape in 2019. A variety of interrelated and often overlapping conflict risk factors contributed to the changing conflict and security dynamics during the period.
As at the end of Quarter 4, PIND, through the support market actors (input companies, agro-dealers, service providers etc.) achieved greater scale in building capacies of the farmers, especially small-scale farmers and enterprises, increasing their access to new and efficient technologies and providing access to credit.
This monthly tracker is designed to update Peace Agents on patterns and trends in conflict risk and violence, as identified by the Integrated Peace and Development Unit (IPDU) early warning system, and to seek feedback and input for response to mitigate areas of conflict.
