The Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement (SACE) Project which started in the first week of January 2014 formally held its close-out event ceremony on November 8, 2018 in Abuja. The event was attended by government and development agencies, SACE national and Niger Delta project partners, civil society organizations, the media and the public. Dr. Dara Akala, PIND Executive Director, while giving his remarks, commended the project team for a job well done and urged all actors to continue using their resources in pushing for responsive governance, inclusive and equitable economic growth “not only in Niger Delta region, but in Nigeria as a whole.”
SACE funded by PIND and USAID and was implemented by Chemonics International. Through the project, PIND has been able to support the works of a number of CSOs and Business Membership Organisations in the Niger Delta, including Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ), Citizens Centre for Integrated Development and Social Rights (CCIDESOR), Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa), Youth Alive Foundation (YAF), among others.
