(Abuja, Nigeria/ October 29, 2021) The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) welcomed a new executive director, Tunji Idowu, in July, 2021. He worked alongside the incumbent executive director, Dara Akala up until December, 2021 when Mr. Akala retired.
The chairperson of the PIND Board of Trustees, Rick Kennedy stated that Idowu’s appointment was based on his strong leadership, stakeholder engagement knowledge, management experience, and technical skills.
“I feel confident that PIND will continue to grow and develop under the skilled leadership and experience of Tunji Idowu,” Mr. Kennedy said.
Since 2016, Mr. Idowu has served as PIND’s deputy executive director, overseeing programs and business development. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Management from St. Mary’s College, USA and attained a post-graduate diploma in Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
“I am delighted to lead PIND and build upon the work that has brought a decade of peace and prosperity to the Niger Delta,” said Mr. Idowu about his new role. “We look forward to further developing partnerships within the local community, civil society, state governments, the private sector, and whoever has stake in the region.”
