PIND Commences Cassava Demonstration Plot Project to Reach 6,000 Farmers

PIND held a cassava demonstration plot project commencement meeting with HarvestField Industries Limited in Akure, Ondo State, on April 24, 2018, to officially commence the series of activities which would see 6,000 farmers in Abia, Cross River and Ondo States get trained on best practices for improved yield.

This was followed up with an inception workshop on April 28, 2018, in Yala, Cross River State, for agrodealers and lead farmers; with the workshop focusing on the technical and commercial aspects of cassava farming, as well as the use and application of herbicides.

Harvestfield Industries Limited is into importation of agrochemicals, insecticide treated mosquito nets and agricultural spraying equipment and is one of the PIND grantees expected to scale up the demonstration plot project.
