The theme for this annual report is “5 Years of Catalyzing Change in the Niger Delta: Our Growth and Impact.” 2015 was a special year for PIND. It marked the end of the first phase of our funding; five years of interventions, and the beginning of a new strategic direction for the organization. That is why we are doing something a bit different from the other annual reports we have generated over our five-year existence. Here, we have a reflection on our work over the past five years, with detailed timelines of our key milestones as an organization and for our different programs. We worked with Washington, DC-based Initiative for Global Development (IGD) and our strategic partner Niger Delta Partnership Initiatives (NDPI) to do an independent assessment of our impact in our different programs and produced highlights of that assessment here. We ensured that our partners and beneficiaries were given pride of space, and sought to tell our story through their eyes. In addition to telling how our programs and projects have benefited them, beneficiaries’ stories contained in the report also contain some insights into some of the key constraints that they face and present possible partnership opportunities for where even more work can be done.
