CLOSED:
The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta is seeking proposals from Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that have competencies to receive grants to carry out Peacebuilding Projects and conflict management interventions in Communities of Delta State. PIND intends award grants to at least three organizations in the range of NGN 3,500,000 to NGN5, 000,000 to proactively address the deeper drivers of conflict and strengthen systems to support conflict mitigation particularly in the coastal communities of Delta State.
PIND Foundation strongly recommends that proposals prioritize Inclusiveness, Sustainability, Deep Impact, and Capacity Building for community representatives. Proposals received in response to this call will be reviewed internally and only successful applicants will be contacted.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Encouraging dialogue between Ijaw and Itsekiri ethnic groups in the affected LGAs especially as it concerns addressing land disputes, communal disputes or political conflicts
- Empowering existing peace committees in the various communities with skills to become more effective peace makers as well as replicating peace committee structures in communities that do not have them.
- Encouraging the peaceful transition of power from one group of community leaders to the next.
- Emphasizing capacity building and enlightenment to community leaders on principles such as leadership, effective communication, transparency and dialogue as a means to prevent incessant distrust and suspicions in the communities.
- Providing platforms for peaceful dialogue between communities and their Regional Development Committees (RDCs).
