Call for Proposal: Small Grants to Address Gender-Based Violence.

PIND intends to award grants to organizations that can participate in providing creative ideas and activities that will help address the issues around this year’s focus with the objectives of taking actions in addressing GBV as it relates to the theme through innovative activities and to provide an all-inclusive platforms to amplify voices on GBV issues and bring influential stakeholders to take actions against GBV.

The theme for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence is “A World: Free of Violence against Women and Girls; Equitable for People with Disabilities”. The impact is to contribute to the reduction of Gender Based Violence in the Niger Delta as it relates to the 2021 Campaign against GBV.

The grants would be from November 15 to December 15, 2021.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

For this grant, PIND will:

Leverage on data provided in the VAWG Filter that are socio economically related, in discussing interventions proposed. For instance, the VAWG filter identified the following as prominent VAWG drivers:

  • Criminality: Kidnapping, ritual killings and rape
  • Human rights abuse
  • Cult violence
  • Communal conflict

Organizations are expected to go through the (VAWG) Filter on the online Peace Map platform for more information and adapt applications to clearly state how activities will address VAWG drivers identified by the peace map in the Niger Delta region. Preferably in Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers and Ondo States respectively.

PIND will also consider creative ideas proposed by organizations to address VAWG drivers hindering the economic growth of women, girls and PWDs in the above listed Niger Delta States. For example creative proposition to address the effect of VAWG drivers on their farms, businesses, education and other sources of their livelihood.

QUALIFICATIONS

Please note the following requirements for prospective applicants:

  • Must be based in the Niger Delta
  • Must be duly registered, at least with a State government
  • Must have a recent tax clearance certificate or an exemption certificate
  • Must have a focus on women’s empowerment or gender issues
  • Organizational structures for implementation of presented activities
  • Must be capable of reporting back on the project and its outcomes

HOW TO APPLY

Interested organization(s) should submit a proposal for the 2021 Campaign against the GBV to procurement@pindfoundation.org. Kindly prepare your proposal using the below format:

  • Background/identify the issues or problems to be addressed
  • Overall Outcome/Goal
  • Objectives
  • Activities
  • Monitoring plan
  • Sustainability plan
  • Project duration and budget

All complete applications should be submitted latest by close of business on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
