Biography
Onyekachi Ajah is a pragmatic development practitioner with over a decade of experience in the civil society sector. She has led and supported programs funded by major international partners, including USAID (SACE), UK DFID (ACORN), IFES (NEVR), PIND Foundation (NDYEP), the World Bank (YESSO), and the Commonwealth Foundation (SAVE). Her work focuses on stakeholder engagement and advocacy for better governance and inclusive policies, especially in youth economic empowerment and gender equality.
Onyekachi brings strong expertise in program planning, implementation, communications, grant management, and project coordination. Her approach combines strategic thinking with community-rooted insight, making her a trusted voice in policy-driven development work.
In addition to her professional work, Onyekachi is a celebrated spoken word poet. She leverages poetry and storytelling to raise awareness and inspire civic engagement. Notably, she performed at Nigeria’s 2023 Presidential Inauguration—during the Investiture of National Honours and Official Handover of Transition Documents Ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja—where she used
spoken word to advocate for good governance and national unity.
