Biography

Sam Ekwuribe is an economic development professional specializing in MSME development, Access to Finance, Economic Inclusion, Food Security, and livelihood interventions. He comes with over 10 years of experience in retail banking and Microfinance, plus another 7 years spent in the social entrepreneurship and nonprofit space working to enhance economic opportunities for the people.

Sam is passionate about helping to improve outcomes for farmers, artisans, and small businesses through support services. As a Market Systems Development Advisor for PIND Foundation, he works to facilitate systemic changes resulting in enhanced livelihoods for farmers in selected Agricultural value chains like Oil Palm farming in the Niger Delta.

He holds a degree in Accounting from Abia State University, Uturu, and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He is a Certified Expert in Microfinance (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management). He also holds a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. He is a 2014 Mandela Washington Fellow after he was admitted into the inaugural class of President Obama’s Young Africa Leaders. He has worked at Oceanic Bank, Ecobank, Keystone Bank, Oluaka Institute, Cuso International, and Pathtogrowth Entrepreneurship Centre.
