The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is committed to promoting equitable economic development and peace in the Niger Delta through partnerships. Given the theme of the 2023 IYD, PIND facilitates access to alternative and affordable off-grid energy solutions for rural enterprises and households, using a sustainability delivery model that ensures long-term viability for investors and which boosts local demand for energy service (see here: Access to Energy — PIND Foundation).
PIND also operates an Appropriate Technology Enabled Development (ATED) Center, which demonstrates Appropriate Technologies (ATs) for a broad range of stakeholders (see here: http://atedlib.pindfoundation.org/about-ated/). The design of the ATED center – buildings, materials, power, water, and waste management infrastructure- reflects the most innovative thinking in AT concepts to showcase the full extent of the program’s capabilities effectively.
