Biography
Semira has over 10 years of experience in diverse fields including procurement, communications, humanitarian assistance, disaster management and learning and development. She is a certified project management professional (PMP) and an Accredited Management Training Consultant with the Centre for Management Training (CMD).
She joined PIND from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) where she worked as the Senior Learning and Development / Field Officer. In NEMA, she also functioned as a Humanitarian Aid Worker in the North East in the areas of WASH, Health, Data Management and Relief Distribution and further coordinated awareness programs tailored towards the management of vulnerable groups inclusive of gender protection advocacy programmes in collaboration with various INGOs.
Prior to her work at NEMA, she worked as an Assistant Media Consultant on a World Bank sponsored project at the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) before moving on to work as a Media Monitoring Officer with MessageWise Limited, Abuja. Semira holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Nasarawa State University, Keffi; a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) – English Language, from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; and has participated in the Humanitarian Assistance in West Africa (HAWA) Course at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Accra, Ghana.
