The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) wishes to reaffirm its commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture through practices that are safe, responsible, and aligned with national policies.PIND is fully compliant with the Federal Government of Nigeria’s policies and regulatory framework on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and categorically dissociates itself from the distribution, promotion, or use of any genetically modified seeds not approved by the Nigerian authorities. We believe that upholding the integrity of Nigeria’s regulatory system is critical to ensuring public trust, protecting health, safeguarding biodiversity, and preserving the environment.
While we acknowledge the potential of responsibly applied biotechnology to improve agricultural productivity and resilience in the face of climate and pest-related challenges, we insist that such innovations must be introduced transparently, ethically, and in strict accordance with national laws and guidelines.PIND requires that all implementing partners and collaborators share this commitment. Any seed varieties promoted through our programs must meet national safety, regulatory, and performance standards before they are introduced to farmers in the Niger Delta. For further inquiries, please contact:
