As West Africa accelerates its transition toward sustainable energy systems, the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) is proud to announce its participation in the West African Clean Energy and Environment (WACEE) Conference 2026, scheduled for March 17–18, 2026
The conference, titled “Accelerating West Africa’s Green Transition: Innovation, Policy, and Investment,” will convene policymakers, developers, financiers, and development partners from across the region to explore strategies to advance clean energy adoption and investment.
At WACEE 2026, PIND will share insights from its Access to Energy (A2E) program and highlight energy interventions that support enterprise growth, livelihoods, and community resilience in underserved communities across the Niger Delta.

PIND Access to Energy (A2E)
PIND’s Access to Energy (A2E) focuses on enabling scalable, market-driven energy access for underserved communities across the Niger Delta. Through partnerships with communities and ecosystem actors, the program supports decentralized renewable energy interventions, such as Solar Mini-Grid and Refrigeration hubs that power businesses, agriculture, and local enterprises.
A key feature of the A2E approach is the promotion of community-embedded systems, including collaboration with Host Community Development Trusts (HCDTs) and other local stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability, adoption, and economic impact.

Impact Achieved
The Access to Energy (A2E) program under PIND facilitates access to reliable electricity for underserved communities, enabling conditions that support economic activities, strengthen local enterprises, and contribute to sustainable development.
Key Impact Highlights
- 55 communities across the Niger Delta with access to electricity
- 10,500+ MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) benefiting from reliable electricity and cooling solutions
- 1,800+ jobs influenced through energy interventions
- Over 2 MWp of renewable energy capacity facilitated
- ₦1.8 billion+ in private sector investment catalyzed
- 12 healthcare facilities powered through the USAID Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance (HETA) Project implementation
Participation Objectives
PIND’s participation at WACEE 2026 will focus on knowledge sharing and strategic engagement with industry stakeholders. Through its exhibition booth, we aim to share lessons from field-tested energy interventions in the Niger Delta, promote market-driven energy access models that support enterprise growth, engage developers, regulators, financiers, and development partners, and highlight opportunities to expand productive-use energy solutions across underserved communities.
Expected Partnerships
WACEE provides an important platform for strengthening collaboration across the energy ecosystem. Through the conference, PIND aims to expand engagement with developers, regulators, financiers, and donor partners who are advancing decentralized renewable energy solutions. These engagements are expected to support the expansion of PIND’s Phase IV (2026–2027) energy access pipeline, attract new developers into the program, and accelerate the scale-up of productive-use energy interventions across the Niger Delta.
