The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) and the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) will jointly convene the Nigeria Seed Systems Forum 2026 on November 10–11, 2026, in Abuja.

Under the theme “Unlocking Nigeria’s Seed Potential: Policy Implementation, Investment and Partnerships for Sustainable Access to Quality Seed,” the forum will bring together policymakers, regulators, research institutions, seed enterprises, financial institutions, investors, development partners, and farmer representatives to address critical challenges affecting Nigeria’s seed industry.

The two-day forum will focus on strengthening seed certification and quality assurance, improving coordination between research institutions and commercial seed producers, unlocking financing for domestic seed production, expanding distribution networks, and leveraging digital technologies for seed traceability.

Day One will examine policy implementation, evidence, and certification reform, while Day Two will focus on investment opportunities, market development, digital innovation, and institutional commitments.

The forum is expected to produce prioritized recommendations, identify partnership and investment opportunities, and develop a communiqué outlining proposed actions, institutional responsibilities, and follow-up arrangements.

By combining NASC’s regulatory leadership with PIND’s market systems development experience, the initiative seeks to advance a more coordinated, investment-ready, and inclusive seed sector that improves farmers’ access to trusted, quality planting materials.
