Port Harcourt, Nigeria — The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) has joined the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to advancing opportunities for women across the Niger Delta.
This year’s global theme, “Give to Gain,” highlights the importance of investing in women and girls as a pathway to building stronger and more resilient communities.
At PIND, the commemoration is anchored on the sub-theme “Empower to Thrive,” reflecting the organization’s commitment to supporting women as economic actors, peacebuilders, and innovators across the region.

Through its programs, PIND works to strengthen women’s participation in economic development, peacebuilding processes, and emerging sectors such as renewable energy.
Speaking on the occasion, PIND’s leadership emphasized that empowering women is essential to achieving sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
“When women are provided with the right skills, opportunities, and support systems, the benefits extend far beyond individuals to families, markets, and communities,” the organization stated.
As part of its 2026 International Women’s Day activities, PIND will support 30 women across its program areas through mentorship and capacity-building initiatives designed to strengthen entrepreneurship, leadership, and technical skills.
By investing in women’s capabilities and leadership, PIND aims to promote inclusive economic growth and contribute to lasting peace and stability across the Niger Delta.
