From paper presentations and debates to group discussions, key voices on Africa’s development featured;
- His Excellency Dr. William Samei-Ruto, President of Kenya, addressed; ‘Africa’s true potential.’
- Akinwunmi Adesina, the head of the African Development Bank spoke on ‘Why Africa struggles to access climate finance and unraveling Africa’s unfair risk premium.’
- Makhtar Diop led the discussion on ‘Unlocking Africa’s Lithium Potential.’
- Gayle E. Smith, the former Administrator of the United States government, spoke ‘Africa Unified Voice- a game change,’ and
- Jacqueline Novogratz, Founder, and CEO of Acumen, presented on ‘Entrepreneurs in Africa are helping to solve challenges in Africa’.
The PIND and NDPI team also interacted with key personalities like

PIND and its US partner, NDPI, were at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in September 2023, actively participating in a series of events like the Gala night at the Africa-America Institute, the three sessions of the DEVEX@UNGA78, the Concordia Annual Summit, SEforALL roundtable event and the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI)-Unstoppable Africa event. Chuks Ofulue, Aline Varre, Maputi Botlhole, and Ani Orugboh represented the PIND and NDPI teams.
The UNGA events provided the opportunity to gain valuable insight into areas of PIND-NDPI’s strategic interests and networking for potential partnerships and collaborations.
