The Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta (PIND Foundation) in collaboration with the Ondo State Government organized a Cocoa Stakeholder’s Roundtable that brough all the key stakeholders in the Niger Delta and beyond together to discuss the common challenges affecting the sector, make recommendations to address the challenges and develop an action plan. This event was borne out of a 2018 value chain study of the Niger Delta cocoa Industry conducted by PIND Foundation. The main objective of the study was to examine the competitiveness of the region’s cocoa economy and identify areas that will require interventions. The Value chain study revealed that great opportunities exist in the Niger Delta cocoa sector which is the highest agricultural foreign exchange earner for Nigeria.
