Niger Delta Weekly Conflict Update for March 21-27, 2021

This edition of the weekly update spotlights communal conflict in the Niger Delta with a focus on clashes over land and boundary disputes in Akwa Ibom State. According to data (see map below), clashes over land disputes caused over 400 fatalities in the State between 2016 and 2020.

Building Capacity for Clean Energy: PIND and GIZ Partner to Improve Access to Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Nigeria

The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) on 23 February 2020, signed an MoU with the German international development agency, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to develop Nigeria’s human capital for improved access to renewable energy and energy efficiency in Nigeria through the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP).
