Request for Proposals: NDYEP Scale-up in Abia, Akwa Ibom & Rivers States

The Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) under the NDYEP project scale up, seek to provide grants to eligible organizations for innovative, demand-led training and support for equipping youth with relevant skills for work and job creation. This Call for Proposal is aimed at building skills for the youth across four sectors (building construction, ICT, agriculture, finished leather and services) in the 3 project states; Abia, Akwa Ibom and Rivers.

Proposals are requested from interested organizations that have competencies with requisite training facilities to provide training on the Niger Delta Youth Employment Program in the following areas:

Sector Skill Areas
1. Agriculture -Aquaculture

-Poultry

-Piggery

-Snail Rearing

-Etc.

2. ICT -Hardware repairs & maintenance

-Graphic Design

-Digital Marketing

-Photography/Videography

-Etc

3. Building Construction -Aluminum Profiling

-Carpentry/Woodwork

-Tiling/Plumbing

-Electrical Installation

-POP/Wall finishing

-Etc.

4. Other Sectors for consideration in the Coastal Communities -Outboard Engine Repairs & Maintenance

-Solar panel & Inverter Installation

-Tailoring/Fashion Design & Catering

For this scale up phase, we invite bids for intensive training and post training support to youth that will be implemented with tangible results within a short period of time of 6 to 8 months. NDYEP envisages that grant requests would range up to NGN12,000,000 (covering pre -training, training and post training support including for linkages for startup enterprises) and depending also on the proposed number of youths to be trained and activities. All grants will be made in Naira subject to availability of funds.

QUALIFICATIONS

• The proposed institution or organization should have experience in technical vocational training within the selected trade area with standard training facilities and competent certified facilitators.
• The institution should demonstrate that the program management will be independent, and that allotted resources will be used for the project implementation without interference for existing organization structure.
• Experience of work in the Niger Delta region is important. Institutions should have at least 5 years’ experience with good analytical and writing skills.
