Citizens Centre for Integrated Development and
Social Rights (CCIDESOR) is a registered non-profit, non-governmental,
non-partisan, non-ethnic and non–religious organization established to
facilitate the attainment of social freedom, Human Rights, good
governance and sustainable grassroots development in Nigeria. It was
established to serve as a veritable linkage and platform to build the
capacities of rural organizations, town unions as well as other social
crusaders so that they can generate a good governance and accountability
demand voice and advocacy through sustained capacity development,
information dissemination and direct connection with policy makers and
implementers.CCIDESOR has strong links with the federal, state and local
governments. It has implemented some of the following programs;
Deepening democracy through Elected Representatives , Carried out the
Southeast CSO summit on public budget participation and access,
Developing community strategic plans for credible elections,
Establishment of pilot Community Governance and security Forum,
Facilitating Accountability and Peace building training for youths in
Oil Communities of Egbema and Oguta in Imo state. The organization is
currently working on “Access Nigeria and Access Serra Lone” –
Accountable Governance for Justice and Security, Civil Society Guide to
Healthy Rivers and Climate resilience.CCIDESOR has partnered with and received support from National Endowment
for Democracy, CLEEN Foundation/Partners for Democratic Change, European
Union, IDASA and DFID.

Health and Education: The project aims to realize
good governance through citizen’s accountability demands through the
publication of annual financial and audit reports of Imo State, making
the state budget information available to the public.CCIDESOR believe that there is lack of accountability transparency and
information in government funding in Imo state in areas such as
education, Health and government projects hence the insincerity and
stealing of public resources through corruption have been the bane of
development and the single reason why citizens and their democracy are
in serious danger. If there is an improvement in citizens’ capacity and
moral courage to entrench accountability culture and transform
governance by getting diverse individuals and organisations to work
together in a strategic, combined way at multiple levels, it will
address the governance and development issues
The project will
1.Facilitate Citizens accountability demands at the state and LGA
2.Facilitate the monitoring, and reporting of education projects
implemented by state, Local Government and community governments
3.Increase government inclusion of citizens in budget process,
dissemination and making of budget law easily accessible.Key activities will include Stakeholders’ Identification,
mobilization/project familiarization events, Participatory
Implementation strategies planning meeting, Setting up the citizens’
accountability assemblies, capacity building and empowerment exercises,
Accountability Media awareness and publicity.Key clusters include Niger Delta Anti-corruption Network – NIDAN,
Southeast Governance Network, Gender and Child Right Initiative, Youth
Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria.CCIDESOR is based in Imo and the project primary geographic focus will
be six Local Governments in Imo state. The award will be for a total of circa N12 million over two year
