Okoro is a Development and Community/Public Health Expert with 33 years of experience in programme design, development, planning and management within the United Nations system, and currently at the senior international professionals’ category. I have extensive experience at national and international levels in development programmes (in Sub-Saharan and North Africa, Middle East and Asia), including, water, sanitation and hygiene, integrated community health development, nutrition, communication for development, immunization and epidemiology. An ardent believer in team work, he had led at Country and Field office levels in UNICEF to both international and national staff team members in the management of UNICEF supported programmes to achieve incredible results. He has vast experience in working with, and negotiating on behalf of marginalized populations with top level government, UN, NGO partners and donors, in both regular and complex emergency situations, including leading the team that achieved polio eradication in Bihar state of India.
